Yes, you can change after first year. There is this complex process of “Migration”, where you can transfer yourself to another college, if you provide a valid, genuine reason for requesting the transfer. Yes it allows such changes. I studied in K.J. Somaiya college till the 4th semester of my BSc and then switched to St. Xavier’s College for semester number 5 and 6. Note that while Mumbai University does allow you to change your college, the college which you are targetting may refuse to accept you.
