Can anyone take the IB exam?
Yes, students who take an IB class, regardless of whether they participate in the IB Diploma Programme, can sit for the associated IB exam. Students who take only a couple of IB courses throughout their high school education will earn individual grades on each exam, like students aiming for diplomas.
Can you do IB outside of school?
Yes, online IB classes will count toward your IB Diploma. You can take classes from five of the six required subject groups online (science classes are only available in person). You can also complete part of the core (Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay) online.
Can you get IB Diploma without CAS?
FAILING CONDITIONS: A student will NOT receive an IB Diploma if one or more of the following occur: CAS requirements have not been met. Candidate’s total exam & core points are fewer than 24. A grade E has been earned for the Theory of Knowledge oral exam and/or the Extended Essay.

In order to receive an IB diploma, candidates must receive a minimum of 24 points or an average of four (or C) out of a possible seven points for six subjects. The independent projects that are part of the IB curriculum can be enjoyable as well.

While home schooling does not have regulatory bodies in India, students seeking degrees and certificates can take their exams as private candidates. Currently, homeschoolers are not eligible to take ICSE and ISC exams; nor can they take CBSE or International Baccalaureate (IB) exams as private candidates.

The IB’s reputation as a difficult curriculum deters students who are weak academically or uninterested in studying. Even after a student enters the IB program, they may choose to drop out and continue with their nation’s standard secondary diploma. In other words, the difficulty level of the IB was right for me.
