Can freshmen live off campus at JMU?

Although all freshmen are required to live on campus, students can choose to begin living off campus, in the Harrisonburg community their sophomore year.

Can freshmen bring cars to JMU?

Am I allowed to bring a car to James Madison? Freshmen are not permitted to have cars on campus. You certainly do not need a car to get around Harrisonburg. The Harrisonburg Transit is convenient and free to students.
