Can I add a graphics card if I have an APU?

YES you can add an NVIDIA GPU to your APU But it will make the whole idea of getting an APU useless. Because it will not add to the power of your APU, but will use your APU’s cores as a normal CPU processor while your computer will use the nvidia card only for graphics purposes.

How do I add a second graphics card to my computer?

Insert the first video card in its slot and press down on it firmly until it snaps in place. Use a screwdriver to screw the metal plate on the end of the card if necessary. Repeat the process to install the second video card. Connect power to either or both of the cards if they have separate power connectors.

Should I buy an APU or a GPU for gaming?

While there are some AMD cards which are allowed to be crossfired (add to the graphics power of APU) with an APU, but they are very few. So, if you are on a tight budget and can’t go for CPU and a discrete GPU then you can buy an APU, else CPU+GPU (separately) is best for raw power.

How do I remove the graphics card from the APU?

The graphics part of the APU is actually part of the CPU chipset. You cannot just remove that. You can simply add a discrete graphics card to your system (assuming an available PCI-Ex16 expansion slot).

While desktop APUs from AMD are good enough compared to intel integrated graphics, they don’t provide you with enough performance to play games on high or ultra settings. If your motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot, you can definitely add a GPU. It will have huge performance gains.
