Can I become lawyer without LLB?

No, you cannot practice law as a lawyer or advocate in India without getting an LLB degree. Getting a professional law degree is easy, as there is no restriction on the subjects you need to study to enrol into a law course. A law degree ensures that you have good knowledge of the law.

Can I practice law without a law degree in India?

To be eligible to practice law in India, a person has to be an Indian citizen and have graduated with a law degree from an Indian university. Foreign nationals are only allowed to practice law in India if the national’s home country allows Indian lawyers to practice there.

No, you cannot do LLB in distance mode in India. LLB in India can be done only by regular and full time 3 year course after any degree. You can get diploma or a certificate in a particular law studies but you cannot get LLB degree by distance mode.

The AIBE is not a tough exam to crack and you are not competing with anyone else for a rank or a seat. All you need is to score 40 marks and pass the exam.

Yes, any law student can give legal advice but it should be useful to others as well as given with proper knowledge. For safety or to avoid any legal proceedings in the future, a law student can mention that it’s their suggestion and for further guidance, they can consult a lawyer while offering advice.
