Can I do basic training over the summer?
With judicious planning, you could probably complete basic training in the summer, but advanced individual training (where you learn your skill) will take longer. The length of this school varies with the MOS. You ight need to take a gap year to get it all in, and even then you need to check dates closely.
Can you get out of the military early?
Sometimes the military offers members the opportunity to get out of their contract early. In some cases, members will be allowed to simply leave their contract and go on their merry way. However, members often incur a service commitment to the Guard or Reserves if they leave active duty early.
