BDS Career in Private/Government Sectors They can also work in government sectors as Dental Surgeon in hospitals, Army Dental Corps, Territorial Officer in Indian Army, Dentist in Railways, and Dental Officer in the Indian Navy and Indian Air force.

What is the salary after BDS?

Since Dentistry and dental science have high demand worldwide, the scope for the course is in high demand, with decent salary packages for the graduates. Therefore, after a Bachelor of Dental Science course, the salary offered is a decent figure. The average BDS salary in India for the graduates is around INR 3.05 LPA.

Can I give UPSC after BDS?

Graduation is the minimum Eligibility criteria to apply for this examination. Thus , if your are BDS graduate or about to complete your internship or you are doing MDS or completed MDS, then you are eligible to apply for all govt. UPSC exams& civil service exams.

  1. A BDS degree from a recognized university in India.
  2. At least 3 years of working experience in the field.
  3. Candidates with PG degree don’t require working experience.
  4. The maximum age limit is 59 years.

No man, you can not become IAS officer after BDS since to become IAS officer you need to clear UPSC CSE Exam.

Is a BDS graduate eligible for government jobs in India?

BDS or MDS , are complete five year & three year graduate and postgraduate course approved by the Indian education system. So a dental graduate is eligible for all the Government jobs enlisted in government of India provided he/she fulfils criteria like age and certain specific criteria related to the job he/she is applying.

The BDS graduates can also apply for the various posts in the health care division in the public sector. They can attend the examinations organized for this recruitment. Through the tests like Combined Medical Services, the qualified candidates are appointed to the government hospitals as dentists.

How can I do MDS after BDS?

After completing BDS, a student can do MDS by clearing the NEET exam and enter either a government college or a private college. The benefit of pursuing MDS is that it will give you additional clinical knowledge that can be used in your clinical practice.

How can a BDS student join the Army Dental Corps?

They can also enter the Army Dental Corps through the UPSC examination. For appearing in this they must have at least 60\% marks in BDS and one year internship training as prescribed by the DCI. They can also apply for the posts like IAS, IPS, IFS and other central government services.
