Can I practice in court after LLB?

Yes one can practice as a lawyer after passing LLB but first one need to enroll themselves to the state bar council ( in which ever state they plan to practice). Also from this year, one need to practice for atleast 2 years in lower court to start practicing in High court.

Can I practice in court without Aibe exam?

Question – Can I practise law without clearing AIBE? Ans – Yes, if you are registered with the state bar council, you can practice law before clearing AIBE. However, in such a case, you will have to clear AIBE within two years from the date of registration at the state bar council.

Can I practice in Supreme Court after LLB?

The BCI said that any new lawyer should have practiced for at least two years in a district or taluka court, before practicing in any the high court of any state. And a lawyer wanting to practice in the Supreme Court and would need to have practiced for two years in any high court before that.

Can I become lawyer after LLB?

After completing your LLB course, you become a lawyer. However, you are still not an advocate. To become an advocate, you will have to enrol yourself with any State Bar Council and clear the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) as explained above.

Can any lawyer argue before Supreme Court?

While any lawyer in good standing and with at least three years as a member of a state bar can be admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court, odds are that a specialist with years of experience working with the Supreme Court will argue most cases there.

According to Rule 47. An advocate shall not personally engage in any business; he can be a sleeping partner in a firm and do business that is deemed appropriate by the State Bar Council, the nature of the business should not be inconsistent with the dignity of the profession.

Can you become lawyer without LLB?

No, you cannot practice law as a lawyer or advocate in India without getting an LLB degree. Getting a professional law degree is easy, as there is no restriction on the subjects you need to study to enrol into a law course. A law degree ensures that you have good knowledge of the law.

Can a law graduate argue in court?

Merely obtaining a law degree, i.e. LL.B. does not entitle one to practice law as an advocate. There are some basic challenges of bureaucracy you must overcome in order to actually practice law.

How to become a practicing lawyer in India?

To enter the profession as a practising lawyer, one has to enrol himself/herself as an advocate with any State Bar Council. Interestingly, there are only 18 State Bar Councils although there are 28 States in India.
