Can I pray Zuhr If I missed my ASR?
No, if you have missed a prayer, yet at the same time, delayed praying `Asr until the disliked time, then you would pray the day’s `Asr prayer only. This is because: (1) makeup prayers (such as Zuhr, in this case) aren’t valid during sunset, and (2) the order (tartib) is excused when sunset begins, until Maghrib time.
Is the `Asr prayer valid?
I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah. The `Asr prayer is valid if it is, at the absolute minimum, begun in its time (i.e. before Maghrib.) However, it is prohibitively disliked (makruh tahriman) and sinful to pray during sunset.
Is it permissible to delay the start of the prayer time?
But if you are going to pray alone, it is better to wait until you can pray in congregation. It is better to bring the prayer forward to the beginning of its time, but if delaying it enables the employees to gather and pray together, there is nothing wrong with that. And Allaah knows best.
When does the Sunset begin during prayer?
Sunset begins, as the jurists explain, when you can look directly at the sun unaided and without difficulty. Moreover, it is obligatory to start and finish the prayer within its respective prayer time. And Allah alone gives success.
Why is Zuhr prayer not makrooh?
The reason for that is that the time for Zuhr prayer lasts from when the sun passes the meridian until the time for ‘Asr begins, so all of this time is the time for Zuhr prayer, and it is not makrooh to do the prayer at any point within this time.
What is the time for Zuhr in Islam?
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The time for Zuhr is so long as ‘Asr has not come.” Narrated by Muslim (612). There are two times for ‘Asr: the preferred time, which is until the sun turns yellow, and the time of necessity, which is until sunset.
Why are Zuhr and ASR silent?
The wisdom behind Zuhr and Asr being silent can be understood by studying the situation of early Muslims in Mecca. During this time period, Muslims and the Prophet were subjected to persecution. Thus the Salah which was offered in daylight (Zuhr and Asr) were read silently to evade disturbance of their prayer and further persecution.
