Can I put a stock on a revolver?

When you add a stock, the revolver becomes a “short barrel rifle”, regulated in the US under the National Firearms Act and possession represents a Federal Felony unless it is properly registered, taxed , ATF lettered and the owner has been FBI background checked.

Is it legal to convert a black powder revolver?

Installing a conversion cylinder in an un-modified blackpowder revolver is legal, no FFL needed. This means you have to remove the cylinder each time to reload the revolver.

Can felons own black powder?

The short answer is no, felons cannot possess or hunt with black powder or muzzle loading firearms.

Can you put a stock on a handgun?

As we mentioned before, pistols can’t have stocks. Only rifles have stocks. So even if your gun has a barrel shorter than 16” and is shorter than 26” overall, if you put a stock on it, you have a short-barrel rifle.

While it is legal to add a Stock or a Folding Stock to a pistol, doing so will create a SBR which must be engraved and approved using an ATF Form 1 prior to doing so.
