Can MDPI be trusted?

Yes MDPI is a reliable academic publisher. Even many of its journals receive impact factors from formerly known Thomson Reuters and now Clairative Analytics.

Is MDPI sensors good journal?

This journal is very good and it has a good reputation. If the paper does not have strong contribution, the editor will reject it from the first stage. Also it is indexed in ISI web of science and Q1 and it has high impact factor. Not easy to publish on it.

Is it difficult to publish in MDPI?

My experience was that MDPI was quite rigorous, thorough and transparent. I think it is a reliable and legitimate Publisher. I published a paper on one of the MDPI journals. No difference comparing to other “regular” journals in terms of the peer-review processes.

As of 2020, MDPI has over 200 journals, so the experience of individual authors/reviewers is likely to vary widely. My experience with MDPI journals (e.g, Water, IJERPH) as both author and reviewer has been largely positive.
