Can the sky be below you?
Up is above us, down is below us. This is an almost universally accepted use of terminology but it is technically incorrect. If you are on a high mountain and you look at the horizon, you see the sky without looking up. And if you are higher still you can look at the horizon and see sky is below you.
Can you tell the time or direction by just observing the sky?
The motion of the stars and the Sun can be used to tell time. We define a day to be the length of time it takes for the Sun to come back to the same position in the sky. It takes about 24 hours for the stars to return back to the same position in the sky.
Why does the sky appear to be blue from the earth and black from space?
Sunlight is made up of different colours, but because of the elements in the atmosphere, the colour blue is scattered more efficiently than other colours making the sky appear blue. However, the moon does not have an atmosphere, so light is not scattered, and the sky appears black.
Is there actually color in space?
Space emits a range of wavelengths of light, some we can see others we can’t. However it doesn’t record any color but it has got filters which enable it to capture only a certain required wavelength of light.
What do stars tell us?
The spectrum of a star can tell us the temperature, size, and composition of the star. It can also tell us how fast it is moving. If there are two stars in orbit around each other, a series of measurements can be used to get their masses (weights). We can tell if the star has strong magnetic fields.
Does the sky exist in the universe?
The sky is actually a space between things inside universe that our so called eyes have limitation on focal point and light reflection so we only see what we could see. It does exist due to universe is keep on expanding from time to time. To know this, first of all, you need to understand at least one of many postulate of how universe is formed.
Why do we like to stare at the sky?
