Can vinyl be sewn on a regular sewing machine?
Depending on how thick the vinyl is and how many layers you want to sew, a household sewing machine might not be able to handle this material. Every sewing machine has its limitations. But if the material is thin and you are just sewing 2 layers, you can sew vinyl with a regular machine.
Do I need a special needle to sew vinyl?
Generally you can stitch through vinyl with a universal needle. However, if you are using a heavier weight of vinyl I would recommend using a wedge point needle or a needle meant for working with leather fabric.
