Can we do Qurbani at night?

Time for Qurbani: If the Qurbani has been offered before the ‘Eid Salat, it will have to be repeated. Therefore, the time for Qurbani commences after ‘Eid Salat on 1Oth Zul Hijjah until before sunset of 12th Zul Hijjah. It is permissible, but not preferable to perform Qurbani at night.

When can Qurbani be done?

Qurbani falls on the 10th, 11th and 12th days of Dhul Hijjah and sacrifices can only be made at this time after the Eid prayer takes place at the start of Eid al-Adha. Sacrifices that are made prior to the Eid prayer are not considered Qurbani and must be made again after the special Eid prayer.

When should we give money for qurbani? It is best to pay for qurbani as early as possible. The time for offering the sacrifice begins after the Eid prayer on Eid-al-Adha and ends when the sun sets on the thirteenth of Dhu’l Hijjah. So there are four days of sacrifice: the day of Eid-al-Adha and the three days after it.

What is Qurbani and how to perform it?

The sacrifices will be made after Eid prayer, over the three days of Eid. However, you can make a Qurbani order right up until Maghrib time on the third day of Eid (12th Dhul Hijjah), as Muslim Hands has already sacrificed the animals in time for Eid distribution, with the intention that some donors will give their money on the third day.

How can I make up for missing the Qurbani?

Simply calculate how many years you’ve missed and you will know how many animals you need to sacrifice. Muslim Hands is happy to facilitate this. Alternatively, you can make up for missing the Qurbani by offering the market value of one sheep/goat to the poor.

Can I cut my hair or nails before giving the Qurbani?

It is strongly encouraged that the one who intends to give the Qurbani does not cut their hair or nails, starting from the first day of Dhul Hijjah up until after the sacrifice. The Prophet (saw) said, ‘When the ten days (of Dhul Hijjah) start, and one of you intends to sacrifice, then let him not cut his hair or his nails’.
