Can you eat out of date packaged rice?

As white rice is refined, the preservatives mean it’s unlikely to decay if kept in an airtight container. The natural crystallisation of starch in rice can lead to a stale taste over the years, but it’s safe to eat.

It should be all right, although I am not a user of Uncle Ben’s rice myself (overpriced, overwashed and generally not very good). White rice, as others have said, does keep for a very long time.
