Can you go overseas during reservist?
Completion of Reservist Training. You no longer have to return to camp for reservist duties or to take IPPT. Neither would you have to inform MINDEF for overseas travel for less than 6 months.
How do I get an excuse from Manning?
You can apply to be excused from your manning from the Manage Call-Ups and Manning Landing Page. Click ‘Apply for Ecuse’ for the manning period which you wish to be excused for. If you have multiple upcoming mannings, you will be presented with a list of your upcoming mannings to select from, to apply for excuse.
Do I need to inform mindef going overseas?
All NSmen are no longer required to notify MINDEF of their overseas trips which are less than 6 months. If you intend to travel overseas, you are required to apply for an Exit Permit only if you are traveling and remaining overseas for period of 6 months or longer in a single trip.

An Exit Permit is normally granted annually for overseas employment, permanent residence, studies, or training. On a case-by-case basis, an Exit Permit of a maximum of 3 years may be granted for overseas employment or training. If you are studying overseas, it can be granted for the full duration of your course.
Can pre Enlistee go overseas?
For overseas pre-enlistees aged 13 years old and above, an Exit Permit and bond may be required. You will also have to register for NS when you turn 16.5 years old. On turning 18 years old, you will be enlisted to serve full-time NS at the earliest possible opportunity.
