Can you go overseas during reservist?

Completion of Reservist Training. You no longer have to return to camp for reservist duties or to take IPPT. Neither would you have to inform MINDEF for overseas travel for less than 6 months.

How do I get an excuse from Manning?

You can apply to be excused from your manning from the Manage Call-Ups and Manning Landing Page. Click ‘Apply for Ecuse’ for the manning period which you wish to be excused for. If you have multiple upcoming mannings, you will be presented with a list of your upcoming mannings to select from, to apply for excuse.

Do I need to inform mindef going overseas?

All NSmen are no longer required to notify MINDEF of their overseas trips which are less than 6 months. If you intend to travel overseas, you are required to apply for an Exit Permit only if you are traveling and remaining overseas for period of 6 months or longer in a single trip.

What is the maximum age for reservist?

Military Maximum Age Requirements: Army Age Limit: 35 for active duty, Guard, and Army Reserve. Navy Age Limit: 34 for active duty, 39 for Navy Reserve. Marine Corps Age Limit: 29 for active duty and Marine Corps Reserve. Air Force Age Limit: 39 for active duty and Guard, 38 for Air Force Reserve.

Can go overseas during Ops Manning?

During mobilisation manning period, NSmen can still travel overseas but are required to seek approval from their unit to be exempted from mobilisation prior to departure. Failing which, disciplinary actions will be taken.

When does exit permit expire?

An Exit Permit is normally granted annually for overseas employment, permanent residence, studies, or training. On a case-by-case basis, an Exit Permit of a maximum of 3 years may be granted for overseas employment or training. If you are studying overseas, it can be granted for the full duration of your course.

Can pre Enlistee go overseas?

For overseas pre-enlistees aged 13 years old and above, an Exit Permit and bond may be required. You will also have to register for NS when you turn 16.5 years old. On turning 18 years old, you will be enlisted to serve full-time NS at the earliest possible opportunity.

Can NSF go overseas?

NSmen are required to apply for Exit Permit if they are travelling overseas for 6 months or longer. If you intend to travel overseas, you are required to apply for an Exit Permit only if you are traveling and remaining overseas for period of 6 months or longer in a single trip.

Can I join the military at 50?

Can you join the Army at 50? The maximum age for joining the Army is 35 years. However, depending on the level of your education, prior military skills or experience, you may still join the army even if you are beyond this age.

Can travel during NS?

NSmen on mobilisation manning are required to seek approval from their units before travelling out of Singapore. If your trip is less than 1 year and you have been scheduled for NS training during the period of overseas trip, you are required to obtain approval from your NS unit before applying for an Exit Permit.

Can I study overseas after ns?

Some serious stuff here! For all male Singaporeans who have yet to serve your NS obligations, you will be required to at least apply for an Exit Permit if you intend to study overseas for duration of 3 months or longer. NS deferment would also depends on your age and duration of the course you will be undertaking.

Can I travel overseas during Manning or mobilisation?

During Manning or Mobilisation, you are not allowed to travel overseas regardless of the travel duration. You are required to seek approval from your unit’s Commanding Officer (CO) or equivalent before travelling out of Singapore.

What do I need to know before my first operational manning?

Prior to your Operationally Ready Date (ORD) or your first operational manning as an NSman, your unit will brief you on the following: Your unit code words. Stickers will be given to help you and your family remember the code words. Mobilisation Centre location to report during mobilisation.

What is a Manning exercise?

Manning occurs about twice a work year during which you are liable for mobilisation exercises. Special arrangements. If you are performing emergency services, or your immediate absence from your work place may be critical or hazardous to life, you should inform your NS unit and report as soon as your functions are satisfactorily handed over.

The SAF is mindful of the varying commitments of our NSmen, hence effort is made to minimise disruption to their civilian careers when mobilisation exercises are held.
