Can you plug mic in aux input?
The Auxiliary input is designed for an amplified signal such as what is output from a smartphone headphone output. In order to use a microphone with the Aux input, it would need to be used with a microphone preamplifier before the signal gets to the Livemix Aux in.
What can you plug into an aux input?
What Is An Aux Input?
- MP3 Players.
- Smart Phones.
- Tablets.
- iPods.
- Portable Music Players.
- Amplifiers.
Is AV in the same as AUX?
While an a/v plug can be easily mistaken for a 3.5mm stereo plug, there’s actually an additional band around the tip, and it’s a bit longer, whereas an auxiliary audio port, (commonly abbreviated as “AUX”) is designed to accommodate a 3.5mm stereo plug. This is the type of plug most common on modern headphones.
Can I connect headphone output to aux input?
While dedicated auxiliary outputs are generally only found on mixing consoles, the aux input connection is designed to accept a wide variety of audio sources. This means that although headphone outputs and line outputs are not “aux outputs,” they are still compatible with auxiliary inputs.
Can I use headphone jack as audio input?
there is ZERO chance of using a headphone OUTPUT as an INPUT. generally all inputs can not be used as outputs and all outputs can not be used as inputs. the only exceptions are hdmi (arc) and on some soundcards which are wired to allow for port swapping.
Can a headphone jack be used as an input?
Short answer: No. The Headphone Jack is designed as an output only.
Can you plug a microphone into an aux without a preamp?
Yes – but the signal from the mike needs amplification to work optimally. You are likely to have a lot of noise in the signal without a preamp between mike and AUX. There may be exceptions, but typically microphones don’t put out enough voltage to adequately drive a single-function “AUX” (unbalanced line level) input.
Can you amplify a microphone in a line input?
No. There is not enough gain to amplify a microphone in a line input. Line Inputs are not designed for microphones and although it is possible to use them, the results will not provide optimum. Dedicated mic XLR inputs should always be used with mics. If you have a mic with a jack plug on it you should change it for a XLR connector.
How do I connect a USB microphone to an audio interface?
A USB mic has digital output, while the audio connectors you mention are for analog, so you would need to connect a D/A converter between the microphone and the input. For the resulting cost and quality, you’d probably be better off just getting a standard analog microphone.
Is it possible to play music through an AUX input?
if you get a preamp for the mic then: yes, that is how the aux input is designed to work. well technically, the aux input is for plugging something like an ipod into it, then you could play along with the music on the ipod. but if you get your mic working then you can sing and play at the same time.
