Can you quit Air Force tech school?

Basic Training Until a new recruit takes the Oath of Enlistment at MEPS, they are not considered to be truly available for duty. If you have NOT been to the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and have NOT taken an Oath of Enlistment, you are free to quit the process at any time.

The length of your tech school depends on your job, but can range from six to 72 weeks. Tech school gives you credits toward a degree from the Community College of the Air Force. Technical school for an airman specializing in cyber surety is 50 days, not counting weekends or holidays.

Can you live off base during tech school?

It can take anywhere between 2-4 weeks before your Airman/Guardian “phases up” and is able to live with you off base. Your Airman/Guardian will not be able to move in with you if the school is 20 weeks or less. The same stipulations apply: 1) During the first phase, Airmen/Guardians cannot leave the Base.

How much leave do you get after Air Force Tech School?

Most Airmen that graduate from Air Force Tech School have the opportunity to request leave prior to reporting to their first permanent duty station. The amount of leave is usually 10 days. Airmen that have no accrued enough leave can request “advanced leave” to borrow from future days.

How long does Air Force basic military training last?

Air Force Basic Military Training lasts eight weeks and is what you would expect from a boot camp setting. You get tested on physical and combat training to determine if you have what it takes for a military lifestyle. After you complete AFBMT, it is time to prepare for Air Force Tech School.

Can you leave the base during tech school?

Your Airman/Guardian is also NOT allowed to leave the base or wear civilian clothes, and has a curfew the first (few) weeks of Tech School because they are in the Initial Training Phase (ITP). To phase-up to the Advanced Training Phase (ATP), they have to pass (2) room inspections and (2) open ranks inspections.

How long is Tech School in the military?

For the most part, a ‘week’ of classes is 5 days. If your spouse’s Tech School is 40 days long, it means that the school is about 8 weeks long (weekends and holidays are not counted). With that said, if your spouse’s Tech School is over 20 weeks long, the military can pay for you to move out to the Tech School.
