Can you send pictures in letters to bootcamp?
Send a small photo or two. DO NOT decorate the outside of the envelope with drawings, stickers, or write any text other than the address and your return address (and no spritz of perfume either). This will cause unnecessary attention from the Drill Instructor during mail call.
Do they read your mail in basic training?
At the end of the duty day, the drill instructor will enter the barracks, call out names and pass out mail. You’re then usually granted about one hour of free time to read your mail. Ask your family, friends and loved ones to send you lots of mail during your time in basic training.
Can you send pictures to Marine boot camp?
Yes, you can receive pictures in the mail. Unless it’s just a single picture or two – they’ll probably notice the envelope is thicker than a normal letter so they’ll require you open the letter in front of them allowing them to observe if any contraband is contained within.
Can you have pictures in boot camp?
Recruits are allowed to have pictures of their loved ones, in fact, they may be allowed to hang one or two on the outside of their locker [The details of this are definitely subject to the opinions of each Drill Sergeant]. Include a photo from of home, family, friends, or motivational photos or quotes.
Can you send mail in basic training?
Soldiers in Basic Combat Training will have mail call every day that the US Postal Service delivers mail. We encourage you to send uplifting cards and letters to Soldiers in training.
Can you send pictures to Marines in boot camp?
Because space is limited in the barracks, recruits may receive letters and small photographs only. Please do not send your recruit packages of civilian clothing, toiletries, food items, etc. as they will not be permitted to keep them.
Can recruits send pictures?
Whether you include a photo in your Letter or not, the most important thing is to write! Your recruit will appreciate the love and support they receive through out training, and will help keep their confidence and spirits high.
