Can you smoke in Army AIT?

IET soldiers are prohibited from using tobacco products. Phase V (weeks 4 through 9 of AIT or weeks 14 through 19 of OSUT). The first off-post pass will be a day pass only.

Are you allowed to leave base during AIT?

Leaving base during AIT is not permitted until further into AIT training. During AIT soldiers will be in different phases. Not all locations will allow soldiers to go off-base, but for those that do, a request must be submitted for an off-base liberty pass when in Phase V.

YMMV. While Navy regulations don’t specifically prohibit the wearing of aftershave or cologne, both are forbidden to be brought in to Boot Camp, and are confiscated if brought. Wearing of Cologne or Aftershave in other than Field Gear is generally acceptable by most OICs, as long as it is not overpowering.
