Can you split basic training and AIT?

Yes, only if you haven’t completed high school can you split training. Yes I did split ops. You can go to basic training in-between your junior and senior year. After you graduate from high school you go to advanced individual training which is where you learn how to do your actual job in the army.

What is split training in National Guard?

The Split Training Option allows 17-year-old juniors in high school to join the Army Reserves or the Army National Guard with parent or guardian permission, training as a senior with a local unit one weekend per month. They get paid for staying in shape and keeping on track to graduate.

How long are you away from home in the National Guard?

The length of time for deployments will vary, depending on the situation. State active duty missions usually run from 15-60 days, while federal deployments are usually a minimum of 12 months.
