Can you take 2 Arts in IB?

Students are required to choose one subject from each of the six academic areas, including one from Individuals and societies. They can choose a second subject from each academic area except the arts.

Can you take individual IB courses?

No, it is not possible to take a single IB course.

Is it possible to change IB subjects?

Each student must choose at least 3 subjects and a maximum of 4 subjects at the HL level. IB allows students to change levels or even subjects during their studies if they can’t keep up with the lesson, their future orientation changes, they feel they are not suitable, etc. but you should consider changing time.

How many IB subjects can you take?

Students taking the IB take six subjects which are chosen from specific subject groups. Normally three subjects are taken at Higher Level and three are taken at Standard Level. Students also complete an Extended Essay, study the Theory of Knowledge and have Creativity, Action and Service requirements.

Can you take art in IB?

IB courses are suitable for students who would like to pursue their interest in the arts or humanities as well as business, science and engineering. Specific IB courses that may be of interest to students interested in the arts or humanities are IB Theatre Arts, IB Visual Arts, IB Film Studies and IB Math Studies.

Can you join IB Grade 11?

IB examinations are written during the month of May of the Grade 12 year. Some students may write one or two IB exams in Grade 11 depending on school scheduling. The remainder of the exams are written during the Grade 12 year.

What classes do you need to take for the IB Diploma?

To earn the full IB Diploma, you have to take courses from six subjects, one each from groups 1-5, and either one from group 6 or a substitute from groups 1-4: Group 1: Studies in Language and Literature (most likely an English literature course if you’re an American student) Group 3: Individuals and Societies (history, economics, geography, etc.)
