Can you transfer university in third year UK?

You may be able to transfer directly into the second or third year of a degree course (sometimes referred to as ‘advanced standing’), if you’ve studied enough similar content elsewhere. This is not always possible, and you’ll need to check with the university or college.

We do not accept any transfers directly into the second or third year due to the assessment and study options followed by our first-year students. All students must start the programme from year one and meet our general entry criteria. If you wish to be considered for year one entry you will need to apply via UCAS.

You can only transfer to a different course within Cardiff University within the first two weeks of the academic year. If you are considering transferring to a different university you should contact them to ask about their in year transfer policy. You will most likely have to make a new UCAS application.

Does Liverpool University accept transfers?

Unfortunately we do not accept credit transfers from other universities. It may be possible to apply for second year entry to some of our undergraduate programmes. Please email [email protected] to check if we are accepting second year applications for your chosen course.
