Do all Air Force airmen fly?
No! The Air Force focuses on flying, but only a small fraction of personnel actually fly. Most airmen and airwomen work on flight support missions, handle base affairs, protect bases, construct new airstrips, guard missile sites and even do rescues.
Who flies the planes in the Air Force?
Flights in the USAF are generally authorised to have between 20 and 100 personnel, and are normally commanded by a company-grade officer (lieutenant or captain), and / or a flight chief, usually a senior non-commissioned officer with the rank of master sergeant or senior master sergeant.

Do Air Force enlisted fly?
The United States Army Air Forces originally favoured officer pilots and the few enlisted pilots were usually civilian-qualified. On 17 December 2015, the United States Air Force announced that it would begin training enlisted airmen to fly remotely piloted aircraft, specifically the RQ-4 Global Hawk.
Can you fly helicopters in the Air Force?
Air Force Helicopter Training Assuming you meet the Air Force pilot physical requirements and have a degree, you can apply to become a helicopter pilot. Advanced training is divided into three tracks: airlift and tanker pilots, bomber or fighter pilots and helicopter pilots.
