Do crops grow when your not in the chunk?

Normally, a player does need to be in range of a Chunk for it to be loaded. If they plants are in the loaded Chunk, they will grow. If they are not in a loaded Chunk, they won’t grow.

Do crops grow when no one is on the realm?

No in that nothing happens unless you’re there. So just like you need to be within range for crops to grow, you also need to be on the server.
