Do I get a uniform before basic?

No. Not qualified for uniform until issued upon completion of training. You will wear civilian clothes to drill. PT shorts and shirt and then typically jeans and a National Guard shirt.

How long after MEPS do I go to basic training?

Everything together should take two days, though there are some situations that may make things shorter or longer. Some people will go into their branch’s delayed entry program (DEP) and go home after MEPS to wait until their ship-out date. Others will embark to basic training immediately after MEPS.

How often do you get military clothing allowance?

The Basic Clothing Replacement Allowance is paid after six months of active duty and then yearly for the next two years.

Can You Wear Your Army uniform after you are discharged?

Army personnel can wear their service uniform even after they have been discharged. This can be done up to 90 days after a soldier has left the Army. Of course, the uniform must be worn in accordance with the same strict standards that it was worn before the soldier was discharged.
