Yes, SAT scores are strongly correlated with IQ test scores: the correlation coefficient (“r”) is 0.86 for scores prior to re-centering and 0.72 after re-centering. It’s a great proxy for the aggregate IQ of a statistically significant sample (where the normal distribution actually holds).
