Do magnetic forces rely on gravity?

Gravity and magnetism are not the same thing. In fact, they are completely separate forces. Gravity is a force that acts between any two objects with mass. Unlike gravity, which occurs between any objects, magnetism depends on specific properties of objects.

What is the magnetic force of gravity?

Wrong Track: Gravity is a magnetic force that attracts things to the Earth. Right Lines: The Earth’s gravity and the Earth’s magnetic field are independent of each other.

Is magnetic force a central force?

Hence magnetic force is not a central force. Also we can see that for a force to be central, it should only depend on the distance between the particles. Here, magnetic force depends not only on the distance, but also on the magnitude of charge. Hence it is not a central force.

At which point is the magnetic field the strongest?

north pole
The magnetic field of a bar magnet is strongest at either pole of the magnet. It is equally strong at the north pole when compared with the south pole. The force is weaker in the middle of the magnet and halfway between the pole and the center.

Which force is stronger gravitational or magnetic force?

Gravitational force acts between any two objects that have mass. By nature, magnetic force is stronger than gravitational force. Both the gravitational and magnetic forces act in between two magnets.

What is magnetic force short answer?

magnetic force, attraction or repulsion that arises between electrically charged particles because of their motion. The magnetic force between two moving charges may be described as the effect exerted upon either charge by a magnetic field created by the other.

What is center of force?

[′sen·tər əv ′fȯrs] (mechanics) The point toward or from which a central force acts.

Is gravity a central force?

Therefore, the gravitational force is a central force since its magnitude is proportional only to the distance between the two particles (where one of the particles can be considered as the center of force), and its direction is along the line joining them (toward the center of force).

Why are magnetic forces strongest at the poles?

For a magnet, the flux lines repel each other so the field will be weaker at the sides. But they are concentrated at the poles, where they originate, so the field is stronger.

Where is the magnetic force the weakest?

center
The magnetic field is weakest at the center and strongest between the two poles just outside the bar magnet. The magnetic field lines are densest at the center and least dense between the two poles just outside the bar magnet.

How do you find the magnetic force of a magnet?

v =qv×Bv The magnetic force exerted on a charge q moving with velocity v in a magnetic field B. This equation actually defines the magnetic B-field. Visualizing a M. Field: Field lines

Why is the centre of gravity important in physics?

Centre of gravity is a theoretical point in the body where the total weight of the body is thought to be concentrated. It is important to know the centre of gravity because it predicts the behaviour of a moving body when acted on by gravity and it is also useful in designing static structures such as buildings and bridges.

What are the properties of magnetic force?

– The magnetic forces between two bodies are due to the interaction between moving electrons in the atoms. – Inside a magnetized body (permanent magnet) there is a coordinated motion of certain atomic electrons . Not true for unmagnetized objects. 2. Magnetic Field

What is a magnetic field?

Magnetic field: 1) A moving charge or current creates a magnetic field in the surrounding space (in addition to E). 2) The magnetic field exerts a force F m on any other moving charge or current present in that field. – The magnetic field is a vector field vector quantity associated with each point in space.
