Only allopathy, AYUSH, dentists can call themselves doctors. The role of physiotherapists is to assist the doctors in the rehabilitation. Due to the shortage of MD Rehabilitation medicine doctors, physiotherapists are calling themselves doctors.

Is Bachelor of Physiotherapy a doctor?

Strictly speaking Physiotherapy Bachelor degree courses are no to use title ‘Dr’. However by convention many use ‘Dr’ but they also add or suffix the abbreviation PT or fully Physio Therapy to make it clear that they are not MBBS/MD etc.
