Do you gain muscle at basic training?

Basic training — Building muscle, making friends all part of Boot Camp. Most have experienced weight loss, but some are adding muscle and that means slight gain as the fat begins to burn away.

Does Boot Camp make you bulky?

You will likely be utilizing some weights during bootcamp, although this isn’t always the case, but — one more time for the people in the back — strength training doesn’t make you bulky! Building muscle will boost your metabolism and help sculpt and tone, but you will not get bulky simply from taking bootcamp.

Does Army BCT get you in shape?

The military places a lot of emphasis on running and cardio fitness, not so much weight lifting. It takes muscle to carry muscle. A big overly muscular man really is self defeating not only does he have to carry all his equipment but all that excess muscle too, which by the way is of little use to him.
