Do you get break time in basic training?

No matter which branch of the Service you choose, Basic Training is an intense experience. The purpose of this training isn’t to “break” recruits. In fact, the combination of physical training, field exercises and classroom time makes individuals strong and capable.

Does Army basic training get weekends off?

No it is not true. During BCT you do get a “break” on Sunday just long enough to go to church and do laundry. However, you cannot take a weekend pass during BCT. Depending on your DS in AIT and what phase you’re in, you may be able to go off-post during AIT.

How long of a break do you get after basic training?

For those who will be traveling to another location, there is a short break between boot camp and AIT. What is this? This leave time is not considered a vacation and is generally only long enough to provide adequate travel time to your AIT training location. Most of the time the travel time ranges from 1-3 days.

Do you get a break after BCT?

The Air Force doesn’t grant leave, or real vacation time, following Air Force Basic Military Training. On the Monday following graduation, you’ll process out of basic training and proceed directly to your technical school.

Do weekends count as military leave days?

Holidays and non-duty weekends do not count against the 15-day regular military leave ceilings. Regular military leave is recorded by fiscal year. If an employee uses military leave in the pay period of the fiscal year change, a split Time and Attendance (T&A) record is required.

It is difficult, however, because everything is new, and soldiers don’t know what to expect. Short answer is “maybe, but probably not.” More than 114,000 Soldiers pass our way each year and each day about 14,000 of them are in training somewhere on Fort Benning – 5,800 in basic training alone.
