Do you get leave after Air Force basic training?

Recruits usually have banked five days of leave by the end of basic training. Leave is accrued during technical school, too, but not all training programs are long enough to accrue the additional five days. You could also go straight to your first duty station, and the Air Force pays for your flight.

Do you get to go home after BMT Air Force?

If you joined the Navy or Air Force, you’re not usually allowed to take leave until you finish your military job training. Most new recruits (except in the Coast Guard) then go directly from basic training to a military job school to discover how to do their new military job.

What happens after Air Force basic training?

Your Air Force training is not over once you successfully complete basic training. Your next stop is tech school, where you learn the skills for your specific Air Force Specialty Code, or AFSC. Tech school usually starts right after basic training, but there may be some situations that cause a delay.

How often do you get to go home in the Air Force?

Airman earn 2.5 days of leave each month for a total of 30 paid leave days per year. Leave not taken in a year is carried over into the next fiscal year but only a maximum of 75 leave days is allowed to be on the books. There are many opportunities for Airman to take leave throughout their career in the Air Force.

Can you come home after basic training?

Soldiers are not often given time to go home after basic training. Check-in for AIT School is most often the day after graduation, if not the same day.

Do you get to visit family after basic training?

At the end of Basic Training, loved ones are invited to attend a Family Day where they visit with their recruit. Boot Camp Graduation is usually the following day.

How long do you get to stay home after basic training?

You can use your earned time to take leave prior to reporting to your first duty station. This has to be approved, and the most common length is 10 days. The Army also has a program called Hometown Recruiter Assistance Program (HRAP).

Does the Air Force give vacation time after basic military training?

The Air Force doesn’t grant leave, or real vacation time, following Air Force Basic Military Training. On the Monday following graduation, you’ll process out of basic training and proceed directly to your technical school.
