Do you get yelled at in the Air Force?

Air Force T.I.s do not use profanity (at least, they’re not supposed to), nor will they “put hands” on you. But, they are very good at yelling. So, try to avoid giving them reason to yell at you.

Do you get your phone in Air Force BMT?

Trainees are encouraged to maintain their cell phone service while at BMT and to bring a calling card. Those arriving without phones will be provided opportunities to use a phone as needed. Trainees will use cell phones only under direct supervision of a staff member.

Do you call MTI sir?

MTIs for short. Sometimes also known simply as TIs. You will soon learn that you will call them “sir” or “ma’am”. Your flight will probably have a Training Instructor and an Assistant Training Instructor, at a minimum.

What do air force men say?

The U.S. Air Force has had many recruiting slogans, used at various times to varying effect. The current Air Force slogan “Aim High, Fly-Fight-Win” is no “We’re Looking For A Few Good Men” or “The Few The Proud, The Marines.” But yet the USAF continues its effort to come up with something as sticky as “Semper Fi.”

What is a training squadron at BMT like?

Each training squadron at BMT is basically a building with multiple dormitories inside it and a cafeteria and MTI offices in the bottom. This will be your home for the next eight weeks and you’ll only leave it to go to various appointments around the base.

What should I expect the first day of MTI training?

Though, they can report bad behavior back to your MTI, so it’s not a good idea to piss them off either. You’ll likely get to sleep in a little bit the first day, so you can expect to get up around 5 or 6 in the morning, at least that’s when I was woken up the next day when I arrived. Each situation will be different.

Do you have to shower the first night in BMT?

You’ll also shower the first night, with an MTI yelling at you the whole time getting you to hurry up, etc. You’ll likely have only three or four minutes to shower at any time in BMT, so there is no time to be modest or relax and soak in the hot water.

Can other trainees report bad behavior to your MTI?

It’s important to know that these guys are just other trainees though, and not MTIs. If you don’t see any rank on their sleeves then they are probably just trainees and have no authority over you. Though, they can report bad behavior back to your MTI, so it’s not a good idea to piss them off either.
