Do you think PS4 will have more exclusives than Xbox?

It’s only natural that PS4 would have more exclusives. Xbox is owned by Microsoft, which is deeply entrenched in the PC market for both games and software, so of course there’s going to be a lot of overlap and non-exclusivity. In fact, every time MS releases a game that’s Xbox only, it comes across as a massive ‘screw you’ to the PC community.

Are Xbox series X/s exclusives only for Xbox One?

As such, our Xbox Series X/S exclusives list below will include games also coming to PC and Xbox One, but not to the rival platforms of PlayStation or Nintendo Switch. For our list of Xbox Series X/S exclusive, we’ve focussed on the games specifically getting Xbox Series X/S releases. Not just those available through backwards compatibility.

What next-gen games are coming to PS4 and Xbox One?

Just look at blockbusters like Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Extraction, Battlefield 2042, and Tales of Arise, which are planned for release on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. All the while, true next-gen exclusives, like Returnal or Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, remain rare.

Why are there so few PS5 exclusives right now?

If you’ve been lucky enough to get your hands on a PS5 since it launched last year, you might be disappointed to learn that the number of pure PS5 exclusives is rather limited. Due to the console’s short supply, most titles are launching cross-gen for the foreseeable future.

Will Microsoft’s next-gen launch exclusives make Xbox more player-friendly?

Microsoft’s plan is the opposite: no next-gen launch exclusives. This makes Xbox more of a player-friendly console, no question. Godfall is one of the only next-generation titles we have details on. It’s a looter game with Monster Hunter-esque combat and will feature drop-in drop-out cooperative play.

Is the ball still in Sony’s court with exclusive games?

And until that changes, the ball is still squarely in Sony’s court thanks to its more robust—and exclusive—line of exclusive titles. As I’ve argued in the past, Microsoft is being incredibly generous with its first-party exclusives which will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.

How many exclusive AAA games did Xbox One have in 2015?

So, Xbox One had five exclusive AAA games in 2015, while PS4 had six. Now all in all, quantity is not always as important as quality, and the fact that three of Sony’s six were remasters is definitely a factor.
