Does God choose us or do we choose God?
So in the end, God chooses us. When we initially choose Him, it’s only because He has enabled us to do so. Once we are saved, however, the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to choose to go God’s way. Because of the flesh nature, however, we can also choose not to go God’s way.

Why is being chosen important?
Being chosen can provide a sense of purpose. In the Bible, we learn that because God has chosen us, we can live not just for ourselves, but for God and others as well. Being chosen by a child can extend that sense of purpose.
