Does the army issue you a gun?

No one is allowed to have a concealed carry permit on a military installation, the military doesn’t even issue them. Weapons must be registered on base and either kept in the home or stored in the base armory. But banning the right of Americans to concealed carry has been deemed unconstitutional.

Can you choose your weapon in the army?

Soldiers operate weapon systems. They are not allowed to pick and customise the weapon systems that make them feel good about being soldiers. They carry the weapon system that their unit wants to have in place and ready to be operated. The soldier is there to serve their weapon, not vice versa.

Can a soldier own a gun?

Troops living in barracks or other similar quarters who own personal weapons typically must register and store them in a base firearms storage facility. Base law enforcement officers and military police are permitted to both conceal and open carry guns on base.

Do Army infantry get pistols?

Pistols are not typically issued to front-line infantry. Before firearms were commonplace, officers and non-commissioned officers typically carried swords instead.
