How are points assigned on QI?

The number of points given and taken away are normally decided by the host or beforehand by QI researchers known as “The QI Elves”. For example, in one episode Davies was docked 10 points for suggesting “oxygen” to the question “What is the main ingredient of air?”

What is the lowest ever score on QI?

The highest score is 689.66 points and the lowest is -144 points.

Helen Atkinson-Wood got 200 points, which is the highest score in QI history, but she got it from one question so it doesn’t really reflect how well she did on the program (SC, E9).
