How do colleges verify AMC scores?

Another reason the AMC is so important is that the top schools now explicitly ask for AMC scores (not required). The second image is a screen shot of the entire page where they have a section for AIME scores as well.

Is Aime good for college applications?

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! These are great scores and you should be proud of them and share them with all universities and colleges you are applying to. AIME qualification from AMC 12 means, you are better than 95\% of students taking the test.

What is the AMC test?

The AMC 10 and AMC 12 are both 25-question, 75-minute, multiple-choice examinations in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills. The AMC 10 is for students in 10th grade and below, and covers the high school curriculum up to 10th grade.

How many students qualify AIME each year?

While we have not received all the complete results from the MAA/AMC yet, we have 82 students who qualified for the AIME either through the AMC 10A/12A or the AMC 10B/12B.

What’s a good AMC 12 score?

The average score is typically around 65 out of 150. 21 About 6.5\% of students taking the AMC 12 scored 100 or better.

What percentage of AMC 10 students are invited to the AIME?

For students taking the 2012 AMC 10 contests, we will invite students in the top 2.5\% of all scorers or scorers with at least 120 points (whichever is more inclusive) to the AIME. This differs from the values of 1\% (or 120 points) which have been in effect since 2004.

What is the AIME exam?

The AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination) is an intermediate examination between the AMC 10 or AMC 12 and the USAMO. All students who took the AMC 12 and achieved a score of 100 or more out of a possible 150 or were in the top 5\% are invited to take the AIME.

What are the admission requirements for Carnegie Mellon University?

Carnegie Mellon requires either the SAT Test or ACT Test from every applicant. SAT Subject Test results are recommended for various programs, see the chart below for details. Only test scores from junior or senior year are acceptable.

Is a 33 a good ACT score for Carnegie Mellon University?

Even though Carnegie Mellon likely says they have no minimum ACT requirement, if you apply with a 33 or below, you’ll have a very hard time getting in, unless you have something else very impressive in your application. There are so many applicants scoring 34 and above that a 33 will look academically weak.
