How to obtain an export license?
1) Register for an online account. Export license applications must be submitted online using the BIS’s Simplified Network Application Process-Redesign (SNAP-R). 2) Receive your Company Identification Number (CIN). Once you register your company, the BIS will assign you a CIN. 3) Log on and verify your account. Using your CIN, you will set up a user ID and password for your SNAP-R account. 4) Complete your application. Use SNAP-R to apply for a license to export products and services. You don’t necessarily need a specific purchase order before you apply for the license. 5) Notify the Office of Export Services of any errors. If you submit an application and later realize you made a mistake on the application, call BIS’s Office of Export 6) Respond to any notifications from the licensing officer. If any information seems to be missing or inaccurate, the licensing officer may send you a message through SNAP-R. 7) Record your license number in your inventory management system. After reviewing your application and any supporting documentation, a licensing officer will send you a license number.
