How do I know when Patreon charges upfront?
If your creator charges upfront, you’ll find “Today’s charge.” If you’re very near the end of the month, it might be worth waiting until the first of the month (PST) to join, since you’ll be charged when joining and the first of the month regardless of your join date/time.
Does Patreon take money every month?
Patrons can expect to be charged on the 1st of each month (after 12 AM PT) for their pledges. It usually takes a full 24-48 hours for all payments to process, so it may take a few days from the start of the month.
Will Patreon charge me if I cancel?
If you cancel and rejoin within the 1st month of your year, you won’t pay any additional membership fee. If you cancel and then upgrade your tier, we’ll credit the amount you already paid the creator at checkout, and you’ll pay the remaining cost.

If an existing patron increases their membership after you switch to charge up front, they will be charged the difference between their previous and new membership amounts. On the 1st of the month (and every 1st of the month thereafter) they will be charged the full amount of their pledge until they cancel or edit their pledge.
