How do you ace the AMC 12?

Is graph paper allowed on the AMC 12?
Allowed Materials and Aids: During the competition, participants are only allowed to use: Prohibited materials include any additional electronic devices (ex. smartwatches, phones, computing devices), calculators, protractors, and graph paper.
Does AMC 10 have Algebra 2?
Many of the challenging problems of Algebra 2 come from contests such as AMC 10/12, AIME, and the Harvard-MIT Math Tournament. Students completing Algebra 2 are ready for our Precalculus course.
What kind of Math is on the AMC 12 exam?
The questions test knowledge in algebra, geometry, counting and probability, and number theory. Both tests cover material typically covered in the first few years of high school math. Topics such as trigonometry, complex numbers, and logarithms are only needed for the AMC 12. Calculus is not required for either exam.
Can I take the AMC 10 and 12 on the same date?
Students can take both an A and a B exam, but not both the AMC 10 and 12 on the same date. Each test has 25 multiple choice questions with a time limit of 75 minutes. Each question is worth 6 points. 0 points are given for wrong answers, but 1.5 points are given for each question left blank/unanswered.
How many degrees should I Aim for on the AMC 10/12?
You can either aim for 130 on the AMC 10/12 and 110 on the AIME. You could also aim to get 120 on the AMC 10/12 and 120 on the AIME. However, the first one seems a lot more reasonable because the final 5 problems on the AIME are extremely hard. Updated Version of this handout can be found here! What is the AMC 12 Aime?
