How do you beat hand cannoneers in Age of Empires 2?

Hand Cannoneers are countered by the same things as Archers, except moreso. They are also countered by most other Archers. The only exceptions are Eagle Warriors. HCs can get wins over Eagles if there is something in between them and the Eagles.
