How do you copy and duplicate in blender?

Where available to use Duplicate, make a selection then from the primary menu for the editor or editing context being used, e.g. Object in Object Mode (3D View), click Duplicate Objects – Object » Duplicate Objects. Alternatively use the Shift + D shortcut.

How do I copy part of an object in Blender?

  1. In edit mode, select the parts of the mesh you want to cut.
  2. Press Shift + D to duplicate the selected faces/edges/verts.
  3. Press P and choose Selection from the Separate menu.
  4. Leave edit mode and select the new separate object (which will be on top of the old object).

Can you copy and paste nodes in blender?

Select nodes o node groups (Shader or Compositing) in the first instance and press Ctrl+C to copy them to clipboard. In the second Blender instance put the mouse pointer over the node editor and press Ctrl+V to paste copied nodes from clipboard.

How do you make a selection in blender?

Selecting things in Edit mode works just like selecting anywhere else:

  1. Right-click any vertex to select it.
  2. Select and deselect multiple vertices by Shift+right-clicking them.
  3. Select large groups of vertices by using the Border Select tool (B), Circle Select (C), or Lasso Select (Ctrl+left-click+drag).

How do you duplicate vertices in blender?

With all the vertices selected, press Shift+D or choose Add→Duplicate from the Tools tab in the Tool Shelf or Mesh→Add Duplicate from the 3D View’s header to duplicate your selection.
