How do you join the Canadian Special Forces?

General Requirements for all candidates:

  1. Minimum two years’ military service for Regular forces;
  2. Minimum three years’ military service for Reserve forces.
  3. Obtain security clearance.
  4. Obtain approval from chain of command;
  5. Complete Pre-Screening Physical Fitness Test (Section 3.2).
  6. Pass appropriate medical examination:

How do I join special operations forces?

You must be either Airborne or Ranger qualified (E-7). You must have an ASVAB General Technical (GT) score of 110 (105 with a waiver) or a minimum Combat (CO) score of 105 (waiverable) You must pass a Special Forces physical in accordance with AR 40-501. You must be able to reclassify from your current MOS or branch.

Can you join the SAS If your Canadian?

Do I have to be British to join SAS? No, you do not need to be British. You can be a citizen of a commonwealth country and still make the cut.

How long does it take to become Special Forces?

The process of completing these schools can take 14-18 months. You will receive MOS training for your Special Forces MOS, which includes SF critical tasks required for award of a career management field 18 military occupational specialty and interagency operations.

How do I join Special Forces in the Canadian Armed Forces?

To start I feel I need to mention that in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) you cannot join a special forces unit without being in the regular military first for at least two years and have met your Operationally Functional Point (OFP) (more info here) which means you need to be trained in your regular force trade first.
