How long does an APFT take?

A-2. The APFT consists of push-ups, sit-ups, and a 2-mile run—done in that order—on the same day. Soldiers are allowed a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes rest between events. All three events must be completed within two hours.

How long does a Soldier have to retake an APFT?

In the event of a record test failure, commanders may allow Soldiers to retake the test as soon as the Soldier and the commander feel the Soldier is ready. Soldiers without a medical profile will be retested no later than 90 days following the initial APFT failure.

Is the APFT timed?

The APFT is timed as follows: 2 minutes of pushups. 2 minutes of situps. 2-mile run.

What is the maximum time duration to complete the Acft?

There is now a 90-minute maximum time limit for a valid Army Combat Fitness Test. The running clock begins at the start of the Maximum Deadlift warm-up period and ends at the 21:00 mark on the 2-mile run. While a valid ACFT cannot exceed 90 minutes, most tests will be complete in under 75 minutes.

How many record APFT can you fail?

You will take a diagnostic APFT every 30 days until your record test to measure your progress. Two consecutive record APFT failures will result in consideration by the Company Commander for elimination procedures under the provisions of AR 635-200.

Do you get flagged for failing APFT?

No adverse administrative actions will be taken against a Soldier for failing the ACFT. Personnel records and evaluations will not contain an ACFT score. The ACFT will not be used administratively for order of merit lists or considered for promotion boards.

How long is the ACFT good for?

Then, in October 2020, the old Army Physical Fitness Test was discontinued. In other words, by March 2022, when the ACFT is formally and officially implemented, for many soldiers, two-and-a-half years will have elapsed between physical fitness tests!

What is considered a good Acft score?

A score of 70 is the minimum for soldiers in “heavy” physically demanding units or jobs; a 65 is for soldiers in “significant” physically demanding units or jobs; and a score of 60 is for soldiers in “moderate” physically demanding units or jobs. A 60 is also the overall Army minimum standard for passing the ACFT.

How many APFT points do you need for basic training?

The APFT standard for Basic Training is a minimum of 50 points per event and no less than 150 points overall by the end of basic training. All other Army personnel (Active and Army Reserve) who are non-IET Soldiers must attain the minimum Army standard of at least 60 points per event.

How long does it take for APFT to be separated?

Army Regulation 350–1 stated that record APFTs for TPU Soldiers must be separated by eight months; this does not change, regardless of their duty status, i.e., active duty (under Title 10), annual training, etc. Army reservist and national guardsmen components do not change upon deployment or entering active duty status.
