Who is eligible for BAH? A member assigned to permanent duty within the 50 United States, who is not furnished Gov’t housing, is eligible for BAH, based on the member’s rank, dependency status, and permanent duty station zip code.
-It depends. Some receive their first pay 3 weeks into BMT, some receive it 5 weeks into BMT. Some don’t receive it at all during BMT (due to various reasons), but NOTE: Even if you don’t see money coming in for TWO MONTHS, you WILL get all of it eventually.
Navy policy allows E-5 and above and E-4s with more than four years of service who are still single to reside off base and receive a housing allowance. Marine Corps allow E-6s and above who are single to live off base at government expense.
