Acknowledge the beggar. Instead of ignoring them, look at them. Nod, smile, or say hello to show you are aware of their presence. This is a compassionate response that won’t cost you any money.

If I were in a similar position as a beggar who is homeless, it would have been very painful and hurting. Explanation: On the road, I see many beggars who are homeless and have nothing to eat and I observe how people treat them. They looked down upon them as if they are inferiors.

The situation is not better throughout the nation as these beggars can be seen begging at traffic intersections, market places, religious places and outside educational institutions. Many of them are mowed down by speeding vehicles. Such children sometimes take to stealing and snatchings. They also disrupt the traffic.
