How do you stop APK files on Android?

  1. Select the Settings app from your app drawer or home screen.
  2. Tap Apps or Applications.
  3. Scroll down the list until you find the app you want to remove and tap it.
  4. Select Uninstall.

You cannot prevent someone from downloading the apk because in android apps are not really extracted into some folder like windows installers. APK is not an installer that installs files. It itself runs each time you click on the app icon. So the apk must be physically present in the system in order to run.
