  1. Go Slow. Especially if this is your first time watching a Boards and Beyond video, go slow.
  2. Take Notes. The best way to learn from a Boards and Beyond video is to take notes while you watch.
  3. Review and Take the Quizzes.
  4. Start Basic.
  5. Move Ahead.
  6. Make Custom Quizzes.
  7. Move On.

Does boards and beyond follow first aid?

The Boards & Beyond video series is similar to Pathoma, but it covers all of the topics in First Aid, so I would follow in First Aid when I watched the videos. I started watching those videos in January to get better at topics I knew I was bad at (biochemistry, microbiology).

Is boards and Beyond Good for USMLE Step 1?

They are both good for first passes of the material, and they are not as good for dedicated step study time. The reason they’re not great for dedicated time is that the videos are too long and specific for the serious cramming you have to do during dedicated.

Memorizing First Aid word-for-word is not a helpful study strategy, neither for the USMLE exam nor for life as a doctor. Making flashcards of every single detail you encounter in First Aid is also not the best use of most student’s time.

Starting up: Do a once-through of First Aid 4. On day Zero, take an NBME 5. Day 1-30: The first Pass 6. Day 30-42. The second pass 7. The final countdown → Test Day To fully explain how to study for Step 1 is a tremendous undertaking.

Is first aid the USMLE Step 1 “Bible”?

The first approach you have to take is to not consider it as the USMLE Step 1 “Bible”. Though First Aid is based on the content outline and the emerging trends of Step 1, the examination will not be outsourcing everything from First Aid. Remember, it is only an “aid”.
