How is document verification done in a company?

They’ll check the details you gave them against data from your last company. Then, companies look into public databases (criminal records) for any illegal activity. Next, they dig education records to verify your degrees and certificates. And lastly, companies will verify your address.

What is lateral background verification?

Lateral Hires: Background verification is applicable for all lateral hires, across all levels of organizations of India. NSR is an initiative of the NASSCOM towards having a database of prospective candidates with Background check completion from registered vendors.

Is background verification done before joining or after joining?

Re-screening or the process of conducting a background verification again in the duration of employment is slowly becoming the norm. This means that even after a candidate has been screened at the time of joining a new company, their credentials are checked once again.

How do I check if a document is real?

What is BGV form in Cognizant?

You must have filled in BGV Form (Background Verification Form) along with other required joining documents. Having and NSR also helps positively in BGV checks. What is the time limit to fill the Cognizant 1C onboarding prejoining forms?

Does cognizant require a letter of authorization for verification?

When i joined cognizant, they didn’t ask me to submit ‘letter of authorization’ for verification. To the best of my knowledge i know it’s something that you will have to provide to enter into a legally binding contract, but cognizant has got no bonds.

Does cognizant give all documents to ex-employers?

If a employer is genuine then they will give your all required documents. In other case (if your ex-employer not provides you required documents), you may talk to Cognizant HR that you only have Reveling letter which indicates your joining & relieving date very clear.
